Factors Influencing Accessibility of Health Care in India: Reviews
Abstract
The Indian public healthcare system is predicated on a referral system. Ranging from the essential sub-centers, it moves upward to the first health centers (PHC), community health centers (CHC), district/ general hospitals, government medical colleges, and the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The health care system in India is universal. Insurance is out there to assist in buying healthcare costs, often provided by employers. Still, most Indians lack insurance, and out-of-pocket costs structure an outsized portion of India's spending on medical treatment. Despite being one of the significant populous countries, India has the top private healthcare globally. Out-of-pocket personal payments structure 75% of the entire expenditure on healthcare. Just one-fifth of healthcare is financed publicly. This is often in stark contrast to most other countries on the planet. Hence it's essential to review the factors influencing the accessibility of health care facilities in India that will pave how to be the policy makers and planners in India.
