Abstract

This paper presents of India’s human development indices (HDI) from 1990 to 2022, highlighting the substantial changes and persistent disparities within the country. The study aims to provide a nuanced understanding of the interplay between regional variations, and human development outcomes. By examining historical data and projecting future trends, this analysis offers critical insights into the socio-economic and human development landscape of India, informing evidence-based policymaking and resource allocation. The primary objectives of this paper are to provide a detailed analysis of human development indicators across Indian states and regions. Additionally, the paper will analyze trends in the Human Development Index (HDI) scores and rankings, examining regional disparities and the impact of human development shifts over three decades. The methodology for this paper entails a multi-step approach to rigorously evaluate human development indicators.
