Abstract

Among the contemporary women novelists Preethi Nair holds a special place in Indian English literature. Her novels are the wonderful depiction of the psychology of the ordinary people. Her first novel Gypsy Masala is a highly inspirational novel which portrays the mentality of the people who want to set an identity for one self. The characters in the novel can be easily related with the characters of the ordinary people. Evita Vishavan is protagonist of the novel around whom the whole novel revolves around. This article scrutinizes the most wonderful character of Preethi Nair, Evita Vishavan.
