Nature Worship and Beliefs of Ancient Tamils in Literature
Abstract
Beliefs are the result of a lack of understanding of natural phenomena or the failure
In attempts to understand them. Specifically, the human race, which lived in harmony with nature, struggled to comprehend certain aspects and actions of nature, and this led to the emergence of beliefs. Beliefs become powerful factors that govern human life. Therefore, the beliefs that arose in each ethnic group were passed on to the next generation. Although early beliefs originated from the thoughts of individuals, over time they spread throughout the entire ethnic group and were passed on to subsequent generations. This research paper aims to examine these beliefs that have been passed down through generations, particularly those related to nature worship.
