Abstract

Art is a primary component of Tamil life and traditions. The Tamil people possessed a profound understanding of the intricacies of art. Arts not only provide joy to the mind but also serve as keys to understanding the richness of their culture. Among these, street theatre (Therukoothu) has been an integral part of people’s lives since ancient times. This art form, mostly performed during auspicious occasions and festivals, is typically staged in a public space. This research paper focuses on examining the structural aspects of this performance space.
