Societal Manifestations within the Ambit of Tamil Literature

Abstract

Literature inherently derives its essence from societal foundations. Works that do not resonate with societal realities typically fail to garner public acclaim. Authors generally draw their creative inspirations and conceptual frameworks from the prevailing societal milieu. Consequently, literary productions across various epochs consistently mirror the contemporary societal landscape. Within this framework, the present article, titled “Societal Manifestations within the Ambit of Tamil Literature,” meticulously investigates the societal expressions documented in Arivumathi’s poetic works. It explores the dynamics of natural transformation, ascertains the presence of empathy for sentient life, delineates its current state, evaluates our collective contribution to environmental conservation, assesses the trajectory of scientific, nuclear, and armament advancements, and examines the pervasive influence of humanism in daily life as articulated through literary discourse.
