யாப்பியல் நோக்கில் சங்க இலக்கியங்களில்
Abstract
Sangam period literature was composed in meters such as Ahaval, Venba, Kalippa, and Vanchippa. Venba verses are found in works like Kalittokai, Paripadal, Patirruppattu, and Pattupattu. However, they do not possess distinctive characteristics. Kalittokai is composed in Kalippa meter. No Vanchi literature emerged in Vanchippa meter. Asiriyappa (irregular meter) verses are abundant in Sangam literature. Among them are distinctive Asiriyappa verses, Vanchi lines interspersed in Asiriyam, and Asiriya lines interspersed in Vanchi meter. In the context of “Sangam Literature from a Prosodic Perspective,” the objective of this article is to examine only Asiriyappa meter.
