Abstract
While Eelam Tamil literature is currently developing across various platforms, literature for children stands as something significant. Here, the term ‘children’ encompasses infants, toddlers, kids, and pre-adolescents. The collective term for all of these is ‘children.’ In that sense, children’s literature can be defined as literature that belongs to children and is about children. These literatures include children’s songs, stories, plays, translations, and magazines. Among these, many believe that the expression and meaning of children’s songs are distinctive. Based on that perspective, when examined, children’s songs do not seem to be appropriately suited for children. In that context, the aim of this article is to examine the teachings and moral principles found in children’s songs.
