Abstract

When it comes to epistolary literature in Tamil, among those who immediately come to mind is Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi, who has made his mark in the Tamil literary world and earned a unique place for himself. He has written approximately eight thousand or more letters to his party members. His letters are of various types and contain diverse information. They serve as historical treasures. In his letters, Kalaignar has expressed Thirukkural couplets and their meanings in various dimensions in such a way that they easily embed themselves in the readers’ hearts and bring about changes in their thinking.
