Abstract

If literature provides pleasure to the learned, then platform speeches provide both pleasure and ideas to the unlearned. Many have gained fame more through their platform speeches than through their written works. Their noble thoughts and profound ideas helped mature human society and assisted it in walking the path of righteousness. Among the many who gained fame in the literary form of platform speaking, Thanthai Periyar is one. The reason his platform speeches achieved success was that he spoke freely about matters that many others hesitated to express. Taking Periyar’s thoughts as a hypothesis—thoughts that brought about a new renaissance in human society through his noble ideas—this article aims to explain and elaborate on the plane of existential philosophy, following an explanatory analytical approach.
