N. Nagarajan’s Poems Depicting Social Issues
சமூகச்சிக்கல்களை சித்திரப்படுத்தும் ந.நாகராஜன் கவிதைகள்
Abstract
Poetry is the mighty wave that emerges from the profound vibrations occurring in the poet’s subconscious mind. Poetry has the power to captivate its readers. Poetry, which gently makes human compassion ooze through its silent language, can also make blood flow when necessary. In the scent of poetry’s blood, one can hear the sound of the links in humanity’s chains of slavery loosening and breaking apart. When an experiential event that has crystallized and taken shape in the poet’s mind becomes poetry, it is framed according to the poet’s mental framework. Poems vary from poet to poet. In that respect, poet N. Nagarajan’s “Kaaladiyil Nazhuvugiradhu Manal” (Sand Slipping Under the Feet), his second collection, stands as a new arrival for Tamil literature. In each poem of this collection, different social problems are recorded. This article is structured as a discussion of these issues.
