Abstract

All forms of worship that arose following humanity's belief in the divine emerged primarily from the foundation of fear. Thunder, lightning, rain, heat, and ferocious animals frightened mankind. At the same time, trees provided shade and fruits. It can be said that devotion to God arose due to this developmental situation. This state of devotion evolved and transformed into forms of worship. Trees became symbols of humanity's totemic worship beliefs. Human communities worshipped by offering oblations and sacrifices to divine power. Nature worship developed and established itself as idol worship.
