Abstract

Tolkappiyam stands as the foundational text for Tamil grammar. The Tamil language follows the tradition of five grammatical divisions. Along with explaining the grammar of the language in terms of letters and words, the love life and heroic sentiments that prevailed in ancient times have been recorded with distinction. The philosophical thoughts about Tamil way of life and metaphysics are recorded in Tolkappiyam.
