Abstract

There has been a relationship between human society and animals since ancient times. All people in society maintain connections with birds and animals in one way or another. The bond between animals and human life becomes indispensable. This bond may have resulted in animals becoming totemic symbols for each social group over time. It is based on humans' attachment to animals and the way they love them that changes occur in animals' emotions, and their sense of gratitude and respect towards humans who love them increases. This can be understood through Perungadhai composed by Konguvellir
