Abstract

The concept of not harboring anger is extremely essential for humankind. Human beings are suffering due to three types of impurities contained within them: ego (ahankar), karma, and maya. The philosopher Vethathiri Maharishi beautifully explains that from ego or self-centeredness (self, one's own) arise the six evil qualities: greed, anger, intense attachment, improper sexual feelings, superiority-inferiority complex, and deception. Among these six evil qualities, the Maharishi has dedicated anger as a life-killer under the title "Six Virtue Reformation" as a lesson called "Avoiding Anger" with practical training methods for the salvation of world people
