Abstract

A creator records their thoughts, ideas, and contemporary events in literature. These records bloom as literary works. These literatures take shape according to their times. For example, in the Sangam period, they chose Aasiriyappa (a verse form) to sing about love, to praise kings, and to sing about war scenes. In the post-Sangam period, they chose Venpa to sing about moral concepts. During the devotional movement period, Viruttappa was used to sing devotional concepts. After the arrival of the British, changes occurred in literature, both in subject matter and verse types. Literature that was in verse form transformed into prose and developed into novels and short stories.
