Abstract

Melaichivapuri

Every life that appears in this world is born, grows, lives, and dies as a natural phenomenon. Among the living beings that appeared in nature, plants hold the primary place. Among plant varieties, Tolkappiyar mentions some names that come as flower names among the names that come as parts of trees. They are: "Leaf, bark, tender shoot, flower cluster, Branch, flower bunch, flower, bud, Bud, and all such inner parts, Are words that come with trees" (Tol. Mar. 89) It is the tradition of prosodic texts to divide the growth stages of flowers into seven: nanai (bud), arumbu (bud), mugai (bud), pothu (bloom), malar (flower), alar (withered flower), and vi (fallen flower)
