Abstract

V.M. KothainayakiAmmal followed the Gandhian path as a person who had no desire for position or power. She held a deep commitment to Gandhi and his principles. She expressed this commitment repeatedly in her novels. She believed that key Gandhian principles such as untouchability abolition, religious eradication, brotherhood, and wearing khadi should not only be followed by herself but also by the people. V.M. Kothainayaki played a significant role in spreading these principles and uniting people around Gandhi’s ideas."
