Abstract

Gathering numerous skills and knowledge and focusing the mind at one point is called wisdom.

  • For a person with wisdom: There is clarity and understanding that transcends both time and space.
  • One who imparts education: Vidhya Guru (Teacher of Knowledge)
  • One who imparts initiation: Deeksha Guru (Spiritual Guide)
  • One who imparts wisdom: Jnana Guru (Guru of Knowledge/Wisdom)

While a Deeksha Guru gives wisdom to an individual, those who provide wisdom to generations and the world are called Jnana Gurus. For example, Buddha, Peruman, Jesus Christ, and Ramanathaswamy are considered Gurus of the world.

Hinduism is a very ancient religion. Our sages and wise men do not belong only to India—they belong to the world.

Ramanathaswamy and Vaishnavism:
Ramanathaswamy, a great Vaishnavite leader, gained eminence through his humanitarian thoughts and practical skills. He excelled in humaneness, righteousness, and spiritual contemplation.
