Abstract

Sangam literature stands as a precious treasure that richly reveals ancient Tamil culture and civilization. These texts not only offer information about the lifestyles of early Tamils but also guide people on the moral principles by which they should live. Any language-based society preserves its past history, culture, and civilization through its literary creations. In this context, Sangam literature serves as solid evidence for reconstructing ancient Tamil society, presenting before us a vivid picture of the community from which it emerged.
