Abstract

Puranānūru, which stands as a treasure house of culture and a repository of ancient literature, vividly portrays the lifestyle and moral values of the people of that period. Not only that, it captures the emotions of the people of that age with the same intensity and authenticity. These emotional expressions shine forth as meippāṭu (expressions of genuine inner feelings). This article examines how such meippāṭu elements are presented in Puranānūru, one of the significant works of Sangam literature.
