Abstract

Folklore studies serve as a rich repository of various cultural resources. Through deep exploration, many new insights and interpretations emerge. Today, research in folklore has reached multiple levels of development, often taking a multidisciplinary and integrative approach. The customs and practices of rural communities provide crucial insights into their social and cultural characteristics. Anthropologists and sociologists today examine culture from multiple perspectives. For an anthropologist studying a particular community, understanding the rural customs, songs, stories, and dances of that group is essential to accurately and comprehensively define their ethnological lifestyle. The Nadar community’s rural practices, as represented in literature, help scholars understand their history, structure cultural frameworks, and study social organization. Folklore thus serves as a vital bridge connecting historical knowledge, cultural identity, and social analysis.
