Abstract

Today’s age is one that calls water “liquid gold.” In recent years, people across the world have begun to realize its immense value. Although the Earth is surrounded by water, the scarcity of drinking water continues to increase day by day. There is no reason to blame nature; the real issue lies in our failure to manage it properly and to understand the natural environment in its true structural sense. Because of this negligence, humanity is now forced to pay a price for water. However, in ancient Tamil literature, we can find records of the early Tamils’ deep understanding, technical knowledge, and water conservation methods. The ancient Tamils, who closely observed the workings of nature, utilized water resources in harmony with its natural flow and rhythm. Their insights demonstrate an advanced ecological awareness that modern society has only recently begun to rediscover.
