Ancient Tamil literature serves as a clear reflection of Tamil life and culture. Literary works document both individual and societal life at multiple levels, functioning as a continuous chain of observations. These works evolve according to the time and social context while incorporating various customs and practices. This article aims to examine how female characters operate and assert their presence in Aṅkuṟunūṟu, highlighting the roles and agency of women in Sangam society
