Abstract

Literature is often described as a lens through time, reflecting the thoughts, lives, and natural and social environments of people in each era. Among the renowned works of ancient Tamil literature are the Pattu Thogai (Poem Collections). These are celebrated as the culminating works of the Tamil language. In this context, Pattu refers to a set of ten poems, while Thogai refers to a collection of eight anthologies. Through these poems, one can observe how the dreams and aspirations of individuals were expressed within the social and natural frameworks of their time.
