Abstract

Sangam literature contains numerous references related to science. Many people fail to view these works from a scientific perspective, focusing solely on their literary value. However, the scientific knowledge embedded within these texts provides strong support for modern research. Science helps people enhance their lifestyle, gain resources, and access conveniences. It encompasses a wide range of disciplines including geography, physics, chemistry, astronomy, biology, agriculture, and soil science. Over centuries, scientists across the world have contributed to the development and advancement of science. This article explores the ancient astronomical knowledge and other scientific insights of the Tamils as reflected in Sangam literature.
