Abstract

The Bhagavad Gita is what God graciously gave for humans to hear. Tiruvasagam is what humans spoke for God to hear. Tirukkural is what humans spoke for humans to hear. Moreover, Tirukkural stands as a guiding literature that shows the way to live, created by a great sage who demonstrated through his own life how to live. Therefore, Tirukkural can be called a life manual, says the great scholar Ki.A.Pe. Viswanathan (Valluvam - Language and Virtue, Su.N. Sokkalingam, p.99).If we calculate according to what the human mind can comprehend, English literature is 800 years old. American literature is 400 years old. Tirukkural is 2000 years old. The 800-year-old English literature is not suitable for this era. In the 2000-year-old Tirukkural, I see a very fresh vitality... How many thousands of years old must Tamil have been before creating such a Tirukkural, says VinobaBhave (Tiruvalluvar's Excellence, A. Kaliyaperumal, p.135).
