Abstract

Among the twelve Tirumurais, the devotional text that has been recited by many people over many periods is Tiruvasagam, written by the great saint Manikkavasagar. Tiruvasagam stands as a noble vessel that rescues people from the ocean of birth and delivers them to the shore of liberation. Tiruvasagam is the Tirumurai that captivates its readers, melts their hearts, and immerses them in divine grace. This article is structured to examine the Tirukkural concepts embedded in Tiruvasagam, which is the eighth Tirumurai that has earned the glory expressed in the saying: "Those who do not melt upon reading Tiruvasagam will not melt upon reading any text."
