James Ferguson has also written about tree worship and serpent worship (1868). J.P. Vogel published a book titled "Indian Serpent Lore" (1926) about stories of snakes in India and the related customs and practices of the people. Furthermore, D.N. Nagar (1980) has written about serpent worship that prevailed in ancient India.
