Abstract

Bhakti literature does not merely stop with explaining the greatness of God, the doctrines of religion, the exceptional qualities of devotees, and the indispensability of divine love. It also emerges as a progressive body of literature that promotes social unity, social harmony, and the lofty ideals of society. It seeks to remove the inequalities present in the social order and works toward establishing an egalitarian society. Furthermore, religion has always served as a guiding force for society by emphasizing noble practices that elevate human life in one way or another.
