Abstract

Four years ago, I travelled to the island of Bali in Indonesia with my friend Sudhir Senthil. At that time, we had already booked a hotel through the internet. When we inquired about the fare for a rental car to reach the hotel, which was about 25 km away, we were told that it would cost one lakh rupiah. Hearing such a large amount made us feel astonished. We wondered how the cost could be so high. While thinking about it, we suddenly realized that one Indian rupee is equal in value to 1869 Indonesian rupiah.
