Abstract

The transformation of letters that stand at the beginning, middle, and end of a word into letters of their own kind is called "pseudo" (poli). The meaning of "pseudo" is "to be similar to" or "to resemble." Tolkappiyar explains about pseudo letters in five verses. The concept refers to akaram becoming ikaram and aikaram, and akaram becoming ukaram and aukaram.
