Abstract

In this vast world, millions of living beings exist. In this context, poets in Sangam literature have sung about various types of life forms and their biological systems in ways that would amaze even biologists. In the classification of life, they have experientially understood that in a cyclical manner, one must live depending on another, and have expressed this in their songs. This can be seen in how Tolkappiyam and Sangam literature, which originated in Tamil, have recorded the biology of living beings.
