Abstract
The purpose of producing film posters is primarily to market the film. From the beginning of a movie’s production to its release, posters attract the public’s attention and guide them toward the film. Posters serve multiple functions: they provide a preview to generate curiosity, amplify the allure of cinema, draw the audience into the cinematic world, and stir emotional engagement. They act as a bridge connecting the theater and the audience. The initial effort to bring people to the theater is made by the posters. As the saying goes, “The elephant comes after the sound of the bell,” posters arrive before the movie and create anticipation among viewers. According to Wikipedia, posters are extensively used in India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, to promote films.
