Abstract

Thiruvasagam was composed to express the divine Lord through the power of words. In any literary work, its excellence largely depends on the mastery of language. If words are not properly used, even profound ideas may lose their impact. The unity of word and meaning gives literature its beauty and brilliance. From the Sangam period to modern times, the beauty, elegance, and depth of literature are conveyed to us through its words. From Sangam poets to contemporary writers, it is the skillful use of words that highlights their literary greatness. This article aims to study how Manikkavachakar’s command over words manifests and shines in his literary compositions.
