Abstract

Paripadal is the fifth of the eight great books of the ancient period. It is famous for  being praised as ‘OnguParipadal’. This is the book sung with a panna in Sangam literature. The fact that Tamil literature has become famous for its devotional content can be understood through the history of Tamil literature. The worship of God is what matures the human mind. Paripadal has beautifully described that worship of God and the holy places of God. This literature is designed to highlight the history of the Pandya king, his valor, and the prosperity of the country. Since it is a song mixed with music, Paripadal was considered to be the reason for the emergence of Divya Prabandha books in later times. This article is based on the fact that it elegantly describes the beauty of the DivyaTirupathi mountain where the Lord resides, the beauty of the rain and floods of Vaigai, and the beauty of the Vaiyairiver.
