Trauma of the Feminine Self in Margaret Atwood’s The Year of the Flood and Maddaddam
Abstract
This paper aims at interpreting the recurring violence and trauma faced by women on the basis of gender even in the futuristic milieu where regressive thoughts and ideologies fade away and people appear with progressive mindsets in life and the concept is discussed through one of the principal characters of Margaret Atwood’s The Year of the Flood and Maddaddam, proving the fact that the violence against women can never be eradicated easily.
