Communication and Socialization in Indian Novel’s Arundhati Roy’s “The God of Small Things”
Abstract
Communication and socialization are fundamental aspects of human interaction, influencing various aspects of individual and collective behavior. This abstract explores their interconnectedness, highlighting their significance in fostering relationships, transmitting information, and shaping societal norms. Examining their roles in different contexts, from interpersonal interactions to digital platforms, reveals their dynamic nature and evolving impact on human connections. Understanding the mechanisms underlying communication and socialization is crucial for addressing challenges and harnessing opportunities in an increasingly interconnected world. The process of socialization begins early in life and continues throughout one’s lifespan, involving interactions with family, peers, schools, media, and other social institutions. Primary socialization occurs during infancy and childhood, primarily within the family unit, where individuals learn basic language, norms, and values. Secondary socialization occurs later in life and involves learning new roles and adapting to different social contexts.
