Abstract

The Sangam literary works serve as instruments that vividly portray the life and culture of the ancient Tamil people. These literary works are classified as "Pāṭṭu" and "Tokai." "Pāṭṭu" refers to the Ten Idylls (Paththuppāṭṭu), and "Tokai" refers to the Eight Anthologies (Ettuthogai). These are among the oldest Tamil texts. Even after the emergence of numerous genres of literature in modern times, Sangam literature remains ever youthful and continuously shines with renewed brilliance
