Abstract

The major thrust of this paper is to analyze the living and working conditions of women workers in construction industry. The study analyses the wage structure, income and expenditure pattern, working conditions and living conditions of women constructionworkers. This study is an empirical one, based on survey method. Both primary data and secondary data have been used. Primary data have been collected from 600 women workers who are working in the construction industry in the Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, with the help of an interview schedule. Secondary data have been collected from journals, magazines, and books.
