Role of Information Technology in Indian Retail Banking

Abstract

The main objective of this paper is to understand the role of Information Technology and to studythe performance of banks in Retail Banking in India. This paper highlights that banks in India adoptspecific strategies for Retail Banking and Information Technology plays a significant role in RetailBanking. Banks were chosen after grouping them according to their size of business and then properrepresentation of all ownership groups were ensured by random selection. Bank Officers were chosenas respondentsfor the survey and they were chosen by purposive sampling based on availability andaccessibility
