Abstract

Enzymatic mode of biodiesel production has an edge over chemical transesterificationmethod mainly because it is an ecofriendly process. Lipase from microbial sources are used forbiodiesel production, is notcost effective. To overcome this disadvantage efforts are taken toincrease the reuse of enzyme by immobilizing the enzyme on suitable support material. Thisstudy deals with preparation and use of chitosan as a support material for lipase immobilisation.
