Abstract

Among Tamil literary forms, poetry has comparatively attracted a greater number of creators. Challenging the fabricated notion generated by consumer culture that poetry’s place is shrinking in the modern world, the voices of poets continue to echo in all directions as 'new poetry,' within a heritage spanning two thousand years. A clear and widespread awareness has emerged that appreciating poetry is one thing, writing it is another. Through words shaped by language, poetry explores the subtleties of the human mind, distinguishing itself from ordinary speech. Beyond being merely a heap of words, poetry seeps into emotions and remains forever etched in the mind
